What we do
A launch is approaching. Engineering is waiting on a decision. Stakeholders are pulling in different directions. The product is hard to explain, the brand no longer fits the business, or an initiative has stalled and nobody can say exactly what it is stalled on.
Under each of those is a question nobody has settled — often one that sounds settled already. A Climb is one week at one price, and working out which question yours is costs nothing and is the first thing I do.
Climb
One week of design work on the single question blocking your build — ending in a decision and the toolkit you build from. Brand, UX or UI, depending on where you are stuck.
- One week — kickoff Monday, delivered Friday
- One question, taken to a decision
- A toolkit you can build from, usable the first Friday
- Bought one week at a time. Nothing prepaid
What is settled before you pay
- The Question and the artifact are named in the agreement. You are never buying a week of our attention and finding out afterwards what it was for. Monday sharpens the Question; it does not go looking for one.
- We tell you what the week actually is before you pay. Whether it is week-sized — if it is bigger, we say which Climb we would make first — and whether it is a week of deciding or a week of building. Working that out is our job, and it costs nothing either way.
- You are committed for one week and nothing beyond it. Every Climb ends by naming the question worth taking on next. Buy that one when it is worth buying.
Tell us what the work is waiting on, or talk it through first if that is easier. We will say what kind of week it is — and whether it is a week at all. Nothing is scheduled until that is written down.
Questions
- Can’t AI do this?
- It can build almost anything you describe — that’s the problem. It will build the wrong thing just as fast, and just as convincingly. Deciding what’s worth describing is the work, and it’s the part that stays yours because you’re the one accountable for it.
- I need a UX designer for six weeks. Is that you?
- Yes — that’s the work. Six weeks is six Climbs, bought one at a time. What we won’t do is part-time: a week is a week. Nothing is prepaid, so the sixth has to have earned it by the fifth.
- What if it’s bigger than a week?
- It usually is. A question too big for a week is several Climbs, taken one at a time — and we’ll tell you which part to build first before you pay. What we won’t do is put a date on week five, because week five depends on what week two decides.
- What do I get on Friday?
- The decision, the reasoning behind it, and whatever the week called for — flows, screens, a working prototype, tokens, a spec your engineer or your agent can build from. We name them before the week starts, and you can use them Monday.
